I read an interesting article on the BBC News website this evening about typography over the ages, and in particular it mentioned the iconic use of the font Gill Sans in the eponymous logo of the BBC which we see just about everywhere. It got me thinking – if the BBC logo were to be designed for today’s design epoch, what would it be like? I came up with this concept for the logo, with gradients and powerful white type, still relying on the classic BBC font. What do you guys think?

Just released my first ever app for Android mobile devices onto the Android App Market this evening, ready for you all to enjoy. Essentially, it is a quick sample app, available for free that allows you to see how to say “hello” in a large variety of languages from across the world.
I created it as a website using HTML pages and Javascript, which is great because it means I can quite simply release the application for a variety of other platforms, like Windows Mobile, iPhone, Palm WebOS and even Blackberry. It is reasonably easy to update from my end, and is available from any of the many Android devices you can get hold of these days! I recommend you download it if you have nothing to do, even though it is pretty pointless. Need to get an update out soon to fix a few problems and add some more languages :)

I’m getting into using WordPress on my iPad to blog, but it is really getting on my nerves how it seems to always crash (well, most of the time!) when I try to post a picture along with a blog, as I so often do. Here is a video of the crash – please sort it out!
(the HTML5 based video player will only work correctly on Safari browsers [available on all platforms and on iPad and iPhone] – if you are using Firefox, you will be stuck with the Flash player)

Watching the Blu-Ray of the second part of BBC’s Stephen Fry in America…love the HD quality and it’s a really great show. I would so love to go on a trip like that to all the states!
